Fifth Grade

Ms. Fisher

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

Fifth graders at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School complete a rigorous academic curriculum in order to prepare them for their middle school studies. Fifth graders work on monthly STREAM activities, complete Explorer projects, and spend three days at OMSI camp each spring.

Religious Education

Fifth graders use the We Believe curriculum from Sadlier to enchance their religious education. Fifth graders regularly pray with the younger grades, guiding them in heartfelt and meaningful prayers. Fifth graders train to be altar servers and liturgists at school Masses and serve in the Mass choir.

Service Projects

Fifth grade students serve at the Blanchet House in downtown Portland multiple times each year.

Fifth grade students use technology across many different academic domains. Fifth graders apply to MLA standards in their written work. Students use Google Apps for Education to complete schoolwork, as well as Khan Academy, ConnectEd, Prodigy, Epic, Newsela, and ThinkCentral. Students use the computers in the computer lab as well as iPads in the classroom to further individualize their education.
